Autumn Leaves: Jazz at the Museum, Saturday

The Nutley Historical Society will host

“Autumn Leaves: Jazz at the Museum”
an evening of music featuring the Mike Gabriele Jazz Quartet

on Saturday, Nov. 22
at the Nutley Museum
65 Church St.

Doors open at 7 p.m.

A “free-will” donation of $5 per person is suggested. The evening will include complementary beverages and snacks and the audience will be cordially invited to tour the museum during intermission.

The quartet is composed of New Milford resident Peter Greco on piano and vocals, Corinn Somers of Montclair on vocals, and Clifton residents Michael Lupersbeck on drums and Michael Gabriele on saxophone. Gabriele is a 1971 graduate of Nutley High School and a former editor (1983-85) of The Nutley Sun.

Musical selections will feature jazz standards, ballads and swing tunes including “Autumn Leaves,” “Just the Way You Look Tonight,” “My Funny Valentine” “Unforgettable,” “Moondance,” and “On the Street Where You Live.”

This will be the second musical program held at the Nutley Museum this year. Last May the Nutley Historical Society hosted singer/songwriter Kerry Anderson.

Founded March 5, 1945, the Nutley Historical Society is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serve the educational, cultural and historical needs of the community. Events such as live-music programs, the recent Ice Cream Night and Fall Festival are designed to support those efforts as well as help introduce residents to the organization and the museum. The Museum Hall is available for Rentals.
