Dear Friends,

As you may be unaware, Meghan McCartney, a former member of the Nutley High School music program, has been diagnosed with Anaplastic Medulloblastoma, a life threatening brain illness.

Treatment for this illness is estimated to exceed $1 million and, unfortunately, Meghan does not have health insurance. ‘Friends of Meghan’ was formed to provide financial support for Meghan.

Meghan’s family also devoted their talents and efforts to the NHS music program. Her sister, Shannon, was a former member of the Marching Band, and her mother, Sue, was an active, contributing member and officer of Nutley Music Boosters.

On Tuesday, August 19th at 7pm, Friends of Meghan will be holding its first fundraiser, a Beefsteak at Nutley Park and Recreation located on Park Avenue. Ticket price for this event will be $40.00.

We are also looking for donations of baskets which can be raffled off at the Beefsteak.

For tickets and basket donations, please call Estelle Suchocki at 973-661-0549.

For those unable to attend or otherwise interested in sharing news, words of encouragement and providing support for Meghan and her family, the following web site has been set up.

Thank you for your kind consideration and anticipated support.

Friends of Meghan
