Film review: 'Tis Autumn: The Search for Jackie Paris (3 stars)
He should have been as famous as Frank Sinatra, Billie Holliday and Chet Baker. In fact, he managed to perform live with Lenny Bruce, tour with Charlie Parker and make it to the top of the charts back in the '50s. Yet, the late crooner Jackie Paris is far from being a household name; even jazz aficionados who live in crates of dusty vinyl will say he sounds familiar but they don't own any of his work.
