As a writer in an emergency, I would rather have a Red Cross radio than a Cross pen.

PSE&G hopes to have all power restored by Friday

NEWARK, N.J. - Public Service Electric & Gas has now restored service to 244,200 customers in New Jersey who lost power during Tuesday's powerful thunderstorms. However, some of the remaining 4,600 customers who were still without power as of 5 p.m. Thursday may not get their lights back until Friday. Crews from New Jersey and Pennsylvania have been working around the clock to repair damaged transmission equipment, mainly in Essex County.
